The 2007 TechTalentBC project is designed to understand the specific skills required by BC companies in the coming year, and the issues surrounding growing, attracting and retaining much-needed technical skills.  Your participation in this short study will help us to build that insight.

By understanding the skills required in BC, the BCTIA and our industry partners can build better programs for our industry, and deliver better guidance to governments and academic institutions.

Please click here to complete the survey or cut/paste the following link into your web browser to complete the study - https://www.questionpro.com/akira/TakeSurvey?id=784913. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete (less for smaller companies and sole entrepreneurs).

For your convenience, click here to download a paper version of the survey, complete and fax to 1-888-869-8963.

Deadline for completion is Friday, Oct 12, 2007.

TechTalentBC is an initiative of the British Columbia Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) in partnership with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC), the Province of British Columbia, Western Economic Diversification Canada, and several regional and sector-specific industry associations.

The study follows our successful 2006 study that identified the need for over 9000 skilled knowledge workers over the past year. Beyond the skilled labour requirements, the 2007 study will also seek to better understand a number of labour-related business practices including:

- Academic engagement
- Local and international recruitment activities
- Use of non-traditional labour forces
- Training
