SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

The Technology Scholarship Fund will award non-repayable grants to students with a passion for technology.  Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing studies in all related technology fields including engineering, marketing, sales, management, and computer science.

Scholarship Objective

To assist students studying in technology-related fields who are attending BC-based post-secondary institutions.

Scholarship Amount - Granting Year 2009

  • $2,500 granted to a full-time student enrolled in a BC-based public University/College Institution*
  • $500 granted to a graduating student of a public BC-based High School*

Length of Scholarship

  • All grants are a one-time award within the current school year.
  • Scholarship recipients may apply for subsequent years of support.

Scholarship Criteria

The following criteria must be met by all applicants:

  • Full time student status
  • Overall 3.0 grade point average (transcripts required)
  • Must be a Canadian citizen (BC residents receive special consideration)

Secondary School Students:

Available to students in their final year who have demonstrated an interest in technology and have successfully completed 2-3 high school science/technology courses.  Graduates must indicate a commitment to further their education in a technology-related field at a BC-based public academic institution.   

Post-Secondary School Students:

Available to students that are enrolled in a technology-related discipline at a BC-based, publicly funded university or college.  Students must prove their intention to continue their education along the same discipline and indicate a strong interest in seeking a career in a technology-related field.

*Awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee and the BCTIA.
