Founded in 2005, Energy Aware Technology Inc. is a Vancouver based company who develops sustainability focused products that increase consumer awareness of resource consumption. Energy Aware's first product, the PowerTab, lowers residential energy bills by giving consumers instantaneous feedback about their electricity use. The PowerTab is a Zigbee in home display (IHD) designed to help the utilities industry meet their need for increased communication and feedback to their customers. The PowerTab uses the Zigbee Smart Energy Profile to provide users with real-time feedback on their energy consumption via an open, standards based communication platform that fills utilities’ need for low cost IHDs that communicate with the smart meter. Energy Aware's PowerTab will be featured in the Millennium Water development in South East False Creek, the future home of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Village. |
