Lignol Energy Corporation
Lignol is a Canadian BC-based company which is undertaking to construct biorefineries for the production of fuel-grade ethanol and biochemicals from Canadian forests and biomass feedstocks. Lignol has recently produced ethanol and other bio-chemicals from hardwood and softwood species representative of Canadian forests, and is one of the world's promising cellulose to ethanol companies. Lignol's technology uses significantly less water and energy than competing technologies; relies on readily-available, low-cost feedstocks produced from agricultural residues and forest products; and produces valuable co-products with the potential to displace a wide range of products currently produced from fossil fuels. Lignol's new demonstration plant and pilot plant are located at our new facility at BCIT in Burnaby. The project is on a scale large enough that full commercial scale-up can be efficiently deployed throughout North America. Lignol also intends to invest or participate in energy related projects that have synergies with its biorefining technology.
